Research Vessel for Emission-Free Shipping

Testing of innovative climate-friendly propulsion systems

Construction of a 15 metres long research vessel for the development of highly automated and emission-free ship systems. The research vessel is to be technically equipped in such a way that it can sail remotely and fully automated.

The energy-efficient ship is to serve as a technology carrier not only for the development and testing of automation systems, but also for innovative climate-friendly propulsion concepts for inland vessels. The ship has an electric main drive. This means that different energy sources and converters, such as initially accumulators, fuel cells and solar cells, can be tested for ship operation.
