On the 29th of June 2023, the Interreg NWE Projekt H2SHIPS project concluded after four years of networking and collaboration, yielding valuable results in the field of hydrogen-powered inland waterways and ports.
While it is indeed a moment worthy of celebration, it is evident that the broader transition to hydrogen is still underway. The need for more successful examples of zero-emission ships is apparent, and efforts to address this are already in motion. The CONDOR H2 project and recent strategic discussions on zero-emission inland waterway transport highlight the urgency of scaling up these efforts.
During the closing event at Delft University of Technology, Christian-Frédéric Berthon symbolically handed over the project outcomes to Lilian Froitzheim-Leijs, a prominent member of the RH2INE Hydrogen Network of Excellence.
